The problem
The warning that doesn't exist yet.
Drivers routinely pass horses at 60mph+ — most have never even heard of the advice to pass wide and slow. Riders have no way to warn an approaching car that they're on the road just ahead. Hi-viz and hand signals only work if someone happens to be looking. There's currently no way for a phone in a rider's pocket to talk to a driver.

No extra action needed from rider or driver. It just works quietly in the background, on every ride.
Rider broadcasts live GPS
When a rider starts a hack, their location broadcasts automatically in the background. They pocket their phone and ride — nothing else needed.
Driver hears an audio alert
Any nearby driver with the app gets a clear spoken warning as soon as they come within 250m, plus an on-screen Acknowledge button.
Road-confident warnings
The app knows whether a rider is on a road and adjusts accordingly — riders in a field won't trigger a false alert.

Rider starts a hack
Open V2Maps and tap Start Hack. Live GPS broadcasts in the background — pocket the phone and ride normally.
Proximity detected
When a driver using the app comes within 250m, the geofencing layer detects the encounter automatically.
Driver is warned
The driver's phone speaks a clear audio warning right away, repeating until they acknowledge or the rider is out of range.
